Donations to the International Human Rights Program (IHRP) expand the reach of tomorrow’s international human rights lawyers and advance the promotion and protection of human rights through litigation, advocacy, research, and education.
The IHRP offers students a range of opportunities to deepen their knowledge of international human rights law, develop practical skills, and engage in initiatives to advance and protect human rights in collaboration with a wide range of partners. Students work with faculty, experienced practitioners, partner organizations, communities, and social movements on pressing human rights issues in Canada and around the world. These opportunities include our International Human Rights Clinic, Fellowships, Working Groups, and the Rights Review publication.
Drawing upon our unique position within Canada, our work aims to foster and promote Canada’s adherence to its own international human rights commitments both domestically and across the globe. The IHRP pursues meaningful change in a wide range of human rights issues, including corporate accountability, climate justice, and Indigenous rights.
Your donations not only provide students with invaluable and career-defining opportunities, but they build their capacity to achieve lasting social impact within our nation and in the communities we reach.
Continuing over 35 years of international human rights work, your generosity enables us to scale up this impact and train the next generation of human rights lawyers!
